Experimental aerodynamics in wind tunel
Experimental aerodynamics is crucial in any design process where fluid-object interaction needs to be known. In our case, we carry out aerodynamic tests in a low-speed wind tunnel, within rapid prototyping projects in the conceptual design phase. We carry out the design and manufacture of the models in 3D printing or milling, the planning and execution of tunnel testing campaigns, the post-process of results and numerical simulation.
- Initial analytical aerodynamics
- Design and manufacture of models
- Test campaigns, measurement of forces, pressures and speeds
- Post-processing and analysis of results
The team of researchers has experience in testing aircraft fuselage-tail configurations in low-speed wind tunnels, as well as train surface elements, train-ballast interaction, drones, and geometries for aerial vehicles in other bodies in the solar system.
