The pointing systems for instruments or communication links from space vehicles are constantly evolving to improve their pointing and mass reduction capabilities. In the case of CubeSats, the most widespread systems have limited precision pointing.

To improve accuracy, ADCS can be approached from a software or hardware point of view, or in combination. Some of the actuators and sensors are magnetic, so their characterization can be done on Helmholtz windings. If an anti-friction platform is also incorporated, tests of control laws can be carried out, and by reproducing the Earth’s magnetic field, the magnetic environment can be reproduced throughout the orbit of the satellite.
